It was the highlight of the evening.
That night Sister Hill had a very nice program for them. 2 May --We were able to take 77 sisters to the Accra Temple, 20 sisters were able to do baptisms for the dead. The rest of the sisters did endowments for other peoples ancestors. Four sisters were able to take their own endowments out for the first time. It was a day spiritual feast.
World Joy had a library built to donate to the small town of Abomosu. This library is for the community's use. Hopefully, we will be able to fill it with children to have story time and books for them to read. The literacy class meets in it now. This is great progress moving forward. In, Asunafo, was a libray built but no one knew how to use it. The literacy program in the communties are all open to all who want to learn English. Sister & Elder Dalton see this as process in action. I thought it was going to be so easy coming back to our mission in Ghana. The training in the branches is going great this has help working toward us being a Stake in November.

The hard part for me is to live some days without water and power. We have a poly tank which helps, we just have to purify the water. I just have learned it takes more preparation time in getting your daily chores done. The everyday convinces we had at home in Utah are gone. Sometimes, I guess at times without knowing it you take things for granted. Thirty years ago we lived in a very small town. We lived on a piece of land about ten acres it was in Stanwood,Washington, the branch in the church was starting up. We met in a school building. First, we dug a well for our water source and had power brought in to our piece of property,we also had some farm animals. I soon learned I was not going to be a good ranch hand. Sister Burton said,"We can do hard things." Our Faith will increase more as we strive to live the gospel principles. Their are many things that I have accomplished by willing to serve on my mission. The last few days has given Elder Dalton and myself time to reflect on 2013. We accomplishe more things on our mission each year, it has been a learning experience. We are enjoying journey as we take the time to serve the Lord in his vineyard. In 2014, we will be implementing more programs this year to the saints. In, February our Abomosu District will have it's first new beginnings. In April, the older boys from Primary are going to have a Priesthood Preview. Then, July Primary in the Abomosu District will look forward to celebrating Pioneer Day. August brings another youth conference. All of the youth are looking forward to this. These are some highlights and goals for Elder & Sister DaltonAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16894182911096404782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7094550675895265269.post-63102159162244329682013-12-20T12:06:00.000-08:002013-12-20T12:06:26.649-08:00Greenies finish their mission Boys to Men We were only out about 6 months when new missionaries came to the bush. Some were very out spoken and thought they didn't need to have anyone teach them. They seem to me to be the boys. With lots to learn, and not just how to cook and clean an apt. At that time a new missionary was to come to Kwabeng Elder Arthur,Elder Farnes was to be his trainer. We used to meet at our home for District Meetings. Elder Arthur was always so very quite, but I knew he had a strong testimony and wanted to serve a honorable mission. He always came to meetings with a great big smile on his face and expressed true happiness. As time went on he left the bush and went to Accra. Kwabeng was a very new area that had been added on to the Abomosu District. The Kwabeng branch was a very small in members. The meetings were centered around PMG, every week all the missionary's came with their numbers of contacts, new investigators and baptisms for the coming up week. Each week Elder Arthur was getting better at presenting who he had visited, and who was getting baptized. He really had a love for the people he was teaching. At times at transfers we would see him always with that great big smile on his face and always a little laugh. I would say we miss you and he would reply, and "I Do To." All the missionary's liked the banana bread I made for them. This week was transfers and also the men were going home. I will always remember Elder Arthur because he was always very dedicated. When we picked him up in Asuom he was a Zone Leader. Taking him down to Accra was great to hear the experiences he had. A scripture,A man looketh on the outside, but the Lord looks upon the heart. Elder Arthur had a very strong testimony, he just needed to be able express his feelings. At the testimony meeting he talked how he felt about his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. In being able to baptize members into the Lord's church. Teaching the gospel principles in the Lord's Way. Leaning the lessons so investigators would gain a testimony of the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,Plan of Salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ and his commandments,Laws and Ordinances. He was a very good example of the attributes of Jesus Christ.
